Simply put, thematic investing is being aware of the themes and megatrends that are shaping our world and investing in them.

There are many incredibly fascinating themes and megatrends that are driving the world and society of today and tomorrow, and the companies in those trends have the potential to thrive and grow over the long term.

At Invest Thematic, we see four main groups: technology, healthcare, environment and society. Within these groups are countless sub-themes and trends, which is where the really exciting opportunities are. This is what we will be posting about and it’s our goal to unlock these for everyday investors.

An example of a theme under technology is Robotics, an example of a theme under healthcare is Biotechnology and an example under society is Demographic Change.

As we’ll get into in an upcoming post, often the best way of investing thematically is to get exposure to the whole theme rather individual stocks and that’s why ETFs are often the best bet. So for an example, a Robotics ETF so that you get exposure to all companies plugged into and benefitting from the Robotics theme.

So thematic investing is about investing where the future trends are and riding those trends as they play out over the long-term, capitalizing on their growth.
